ASC Foundation Annual Scientific Meeting Travel Scholarships

The ASC Foundation supports travel scholarships to the ASC Annual Scientific Meeting. Five scholarships will be given to cytotechnologists and five will be given to fellows and/or residents.

Cytotechnologist – ASC Annual Scientific Meeting Travel Scholarship

The ASC Foundation awards up to five qualified cytotechologis a $2,000 scholarship each to attend the ASC Annual Scientific Meeting. A qualified cytotechnologist includes ASC Members who are in their first five years of membership or a member who is attending the Meeting for the first time. This scholarship, based on need and merit, defrays registration, travel and hotel costs, and includes funding for three additional sessions (can include, but not limited to workshops, panel luncheons, etc.), and per diem allowance. The Cytotechnologist Travel Scholarship applies to the Annual Scientific Meeting.

Fellowship/Resident – ASC Annual Scientific Meeting Travel Scholarship

The ASC Foundation awards up to five qualified Pathology Residents or Cytopathology Fellows a $2,000 scholarship each to attend the ASC Annual Scientific Meeting. A qualified Pathology Resident or Cytopathology Fellow is an ASC Member who will be in a residency or fellowship program at the time of the ASC Meeting. This scholarship, based on need and merit, defrays registration, travel and hotel costs, and will include funding for three additional sessions (can include, but not limited to workshops, panel luncheons, etc.), and per diem allowance. The Fellowship/Resident Travel Scholarship applies to the Annual Scientific Meeting.

General Instructions and Criteria

Below are general instructions for the ASC Foundation Annual Scientific Meeting Travel Scholarships.

  1. The applicant must be an ASC Member or an applicant for membership.
  2. complete application, as specified in the instructions, must be submitted on the ASC website and received by July 15.
  3. curriculum vitae that includes educational training indicating the time, place and degrees awarded, relevant awards and honors.
  4. Letter from applicant explaining why he/she should be considered for the Scholarship. Included in the letter should be the applicant’s statement of career goals (no more than one page) describing the applicant’s short and long term career goals and how the ASM Travel Scholarship will enhance these career plans.

 

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS:  July 15th
